In the Ryazan region, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and Rosgvardiya rescued two people from the rubble after an explosion in the powder magazine of the Elastik plant. This was announced on Friday, August 15, by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.

"In the Ryazan region, specialists from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and Rosgvardiya rescued two people from the rubble. <...> It is previously known about 117 victims, five of them died," the department's Telegram channel clarified.

They added that about 350 specialists and more than 80 pieces of equipment are working on site. In addition, light towers are being installed on site to carry out round-the-clock search and rescue operations, and shedding of structures continues in some areas.

An emergency at a factory in the Shilovsky district occurred earlier that day. Later, a headquarters for the elimination of consequences was established. All the injured were sent to the district hospital. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations emphasized that there is no threat to the residential sector. A criminal case has been opened into the incident. Later, the Ministry of Emergency Situations sent an additional group of 100 rescuers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations to eliminate the consequences of the fire at the enterprise.
