Banners with the slogan "Striving for Peace" have been hung in the hall where US President Donald Trump and Russian Leader Vladimir Putin will hold a press conference following talks in Alaska. This was reported by a TASS correspondent on August 15.

It is noted that final preparations are already underway in the room, and Russian and American flags have also been hung. Hardware debugging has been completed.

Earlier in the day, Kirill Dmitriev, special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for cooperation with foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), announced plans for Putin and Trump to discuss issues of bilateral relations at the meeting. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in turn, said that Moscow was counting on an effective conclusion to the meeting of the presidents.

The Presidents of Russia and the United States will meet at the Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Anchorage on August 15 at about 11:30 local time (22:30 Moscow time). The central topic of the meeting of the heads of state will be the discussion of the conflict in Ukraine. Their meeting will be held in a three-on-three format with the participation of ministers.
