Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Cooperation with Foreign Countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), met the bear in Alaska. He announced this on August 15 on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

"We met a bear in Alaska before the US—Russia summit," the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund wrote.

He expressed the hope that this was a good sign.
