Satellites of the Russian state corporation Roscosmos photographed the city of Anchorage in Alaska, where the summit of the leaders of Russia and the United States will be held on August 15, showing what the settlement looks like through the eyes of astronauts.

"Where the meeting between [Russian President] Vladimir Putin and [US President] Donald Trump will take place is a view from space," the department's Telegram channel says.

In the first frame, you can see how the houses and neighborhoods of Anchorage are located. The second image shows that thick clouds are currently hanging over the city. The footage was taken by the Resurs-P spacecraft, as well as the Electro-L and Arktika-M satellites.

Putin and Trump will meet at the US Air Force base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage on August 15 at about 11:30 local time (22:30 Moscow time). The central topic of the meeting of the presidents will be the discussion of the conflict in Ukraine. On August 14, Trump noted the importance of the upcoming meeting with the Russian side, and also expressed hope that the negotiations would go well.
