The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump may lead to a positive result today. This opinion was shared with Izvestia on August 15 by the head of the German Council for Constitution and Sovereignty, politician Ralf Niemeyer.

"It is impossible for all the problems to be resolved in one day at one meeting, but I see that a good process is beginning, they are communicating directly with each other, and hopefully this will lead to a positive result today, and then at subsequent meetings immediately after that," Niemeyer said.

In addition, he said that German and European politicians are unhappy with this meeting, because they believe that the future of Ukraine cannot be discussed without her participation. According to Niemeyer, the Western media are literally "boiling with anger," and they do not like that the negotiations between the Russian Federation and the United States can lead to a "good result.

Putin and Trump will meet at the Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Anchorage on August 15 at about 22:30 Moscow time, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said. The conflict in Ukraine will be the central topic of discussions between the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States. In addition, the leaders of the countries will touch upon broader issues of ensuring peace and security.
