The Russian-American summit in Alaska will discuss the restoration of relations between Moscow and Washington. This was announced on August 15 by Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for cooperation with foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

"We are also engaged in restoring relations between Russia and the United States. It is important that not only economic issues are on the agenda, not only Ukraine, but also relations between Russia and the United States," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Dmitriev also shared that he was in a "fighting" mood ahead of the summit.

Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump said there was a lot at stake. At the same time, he did not specify what exactly he meant.

Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin will meet at the Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Anchorage on August 15 at about 22:30 Moscow time, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said. The central topic of discussion will be the conflict in Ukraine.
