The financial consultant named ways to restore the budget after the vacation
Summer travel is a significant expense item. Often people only consider global expenses — plane tickets and accommodation reservations, forgetting about buying souvenirs, excursions, meals and so on. Olga Matveeva, financial consultant of the X5 Package service, told Izvestia on August 17 about how to speed up budget recovery after a vacation.
"But it can be a significant expense item on vacation, especially if you weren't thinking about the benefits, but just relaxing and enjoying your vacation. Therefore, the first step to restoring the budget is a real calculation of all expenses," she said.
When the size of the current large expenses is determined, you should proceed to the second step — to plan the next large purchases for several months ahead. Car maintenance, buying a new refrigerator, organizing a family holiday, preparing a child for school — you need to write out everything that is not included in household expenses.
"When you have a clear list in front of your eyes, analyze each item and prioritize it. Think about which expenses are tied to specific deadlines, and which can be postponed. And evaluate how comfortable this or that purchase will be for your budget at the moment," the expert added.
In addition to large expenses, the expert clarified, it is worth thinking about everyday ones. Therefore, the third step is to optimize your daily expenses. We often don't notice the number of cups of coffee we drink per day, taxi rides, and other things that are the absolute norm today. Therefore, you should not abandon them, but make them more profitable — yes.
The fourth step may not help you restore your budget here and now, but it will help you plan your next vacation. It is necessary to summarize what expenses could have been reduced during the trip, how much tickets cost during off—peak season, and which area of the vacation destination seemed nice. You can create a guide for planning your next trip, which in the future will help optimize your budget before the trip, rather than after it. Having analyzed the previous trip and drawn conclusions, it's time to move on to the final step — to start preparing for the next vacation now.
"To do this, you can use the savings creation system. Choose a comfortable one for yourself: if your income is fixed, then designate a specific day of the month when you will save a certain amount. If the income may vary, then set the amount as a percentage of the income," she said.
Analysts of the member companies of the Association of Tour Operators (ATOR) Dolphin, ALEAN, Multitour, Intourist and Russian Express informed Izvestia on July 1 that the high season in Crimea would be at a good level, judging by current sales of tours for July-August. In addition, the number of bookings for this period is 30-40% higher than a year earlier.
