The number of victims of an explosion in the powder magazine of a factory in the village of Lesnoy in the Shilovsky district of the Ryazan region has previously increased to 98. This was announced on August 15 by a source of Izvestia.

According to preliminary data from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, five people died as a result of the incident. It is noted that five victims are in serious condition.

The explosion at the Elastik plant in the Shilovsky district of the Ryazan region occurred earlier that day. Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.

A headquarters has been set up in the region to eliminate the consequences of the incident. The Governor of the Ryazan region Pavel Malkov arrived at the scene. It is specified that all the victims were sent to the district hospital, operational services are currently working at the scene.
