Sakhalin residents warned of heavy rain

Weather forecasters warned of the onset of a cyclone in the Sakhalin region. On August 17, rains will fall in the south of the region.

According to the Sakhalin Hydrometeorological Service, precipitation is expected in the Makarovsky, Dolinsky, Tomarinsky, Uglegorsky, Kholmsky, Nevelsky, Anivsky, Korsakovsky districts, as well as in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The forces and means of municipalities are prepared to eliminate the possible consequences of bad weather, SakhalinMedia news agency writes.

Due to heavy rainfall, the water level in the rivers may rise by 0.5-1.5 m.
