More than 3 thousand residents of Transbaikalia suffered from tick bites

In the Trans-Baikal Territory, since the beginning of the season, more than 3 thousand people have turned to doctors with tick bites. This is reported by ChitaMedia news agency with reference to information from Rospotrebnadzor.

In the last week alone, 115 people, including 42 children, went to the doctors. This is 2.5 times more than in the same period of 2024.

Since the beginning of the season, 26 victims have been diagnosed with encephalitis. Another 46 people became infected with borreliosis.

According to laboratory data, 1.3% of ticks suffered encephalitis. Another 20.5% of the pests were infected with borreliosis, 4.1% with ehrlichiosis. Almost 40 thousand people have been vaccinated against tick-borne encephalitis.
