Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. During the week, the Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, hit objects of the military-industrial complex (MIC) of Ukraine and the transport infrastructure used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), as well as ammunition depots, long-range drone assembly, storage and launch sites, centers training and temporary deployment points for Ukrainian armed formations, nationalists and foreign mercenaries.

The Center group of troops liberated the settlements of Yablonovka, Lunacharskoye, Suvorovo and Nikanorovka in the DPR. As a result of the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they lost up to 2,740 militants, a tank, 30 armored combat vehicles, 48 vehicles, 25 field artillery guns, four electronic warfare (EW) and counter-battery warfare stations. In addition, over the past week, the Russian Armed Forces liberated the settlements of Iskra and Alexandrograd in the DPR.

"Units of the Southern Group of Forces have advanced into the depth of the enemy's defenses and liberated the village of Shcherbinovka in the Donetsk People's Republic. They defeated the manpower and equipment of five mechanized, motorized infantry, airmobile, assault, mountain assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade, two air defense brigades, two National Guard brigades and a Lyut brigade of the National police of Ukraine," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

Air defense systems, in turn, shot down a Ukrainian Air Force Su-27 aircraft, 27 guided aerial bombs, 20 US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, two Neptune long-range guided missiles and 2,134 aircraft-type drones in a week.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 665 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 77,490 UAVs, 625 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,584 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,586 multiple rocket launchers, 28,544 field artillery and mortars, and 39,702 special vehicles.
