In the Moscow region, birds began to prepare for migration. Bird watchers report on pre-flight concentrations of birds, the press service of the regional Ministry of Ecology and Nature Management reported on Friday, August 15.

Despite the relatively warm August and favorable weather forecasts for September, the birds huddle together and feed intensively before departure.

According to the head of the department, Vitaly Mosin, according to tradition, black swifts are the first to leave the region. Most of them will leave the Moscow region by the end of August, although there is still enough food in nature. They will be followed by cuckoos, nightingales, river terns, warblers and warblers.

The departure season will last until the end of autumn, writes the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya. The last birds to leave the region are those that can switch from animal feed to vegetable feed. These are woodcocks, finches, grouse thrushes and waterfowl.

The "flight schedule" is being adjusted by global warming. For example, for several years now there has been a massive refusal of waterfowl from migration. This trend is associated with an increase in average winter temperatures, poor freezing of reservoirs and replenishment of the food supply at the expense of people.

Earlier, the Kandalaksha Nature Reserve told about the banding of birds. Both employees and invited specialists and volunteers are involved in the work.
