Speed of movement of electric scooters was limited in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk

In the public spaces of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the speed of electric scooters was limited to 5 km/h. Kicksharing operators will implement the changes by the end of August.

Special attention is planned to be paid to urban squares. Scooter parking will be banned in many places, SakhalinMedia news agency writes.

Since the beginning of 2025, 16 accidents involving personal mobility equipment have occurred in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The overall speed of scooters in the city will be reduced to 20 km/ h, on key streets — up to 15 km/h.

In early August in Tatarstan, a teenager on an electric scooter crashed into a metal support. A 16-year-old boy died from his injuries.
