Vitaly Holdin, a psychiatrist and narcologist, chief freelance specialist at the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region, told which alcohol is more likely to be fake.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Friday, August 15, he noted that too cheap alcoholic beverages on tap are especially dangerous. They are often undocumented and labeled, which makes them potentially dangerous.

According to Holdin, counterfeiting cannot be distinguished by smell or taste, and people do not realize the risk until their condition becomes critical. Symptoms of poisoning can appear quite quickly: abdominal pain, dizziness and general malaise. At first, a person may experience arousal, but soon loses consciousness.

In addition, the narcologist added, even small doses of methyl alcohol can be dangerous and lead to blindness, and in the worst case, to death. The holding also stressed that it is not worth buying alcohol with your own hands because of the unknown quality of its production. The best way to avoid poisoning is to completely abandon such drinks.
