Five people were injured in a three-car collision on the A-331 Vilyu federal highway in Bratsk, Irkutsk region. This was announced on August 15 by the State Traffic Inspectorate for the region.

"The 24-year—old driver of a Subaru Forester car collided with an oncoming Nissan Almera car when entering the oncoming traffic lane, after which he collided with a VAZ-2106 car moving in the same direction. As a result of a traffic accident, five people were injured," TASS quoted the ministry as saying.

It is noted that the culprit of the accident was intoxicated. An investigation has been launched into the incident and an administrative investigation has been opened.

On August 14, the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia informed Izvestia that 350 road accidents had been recorded on Russian roads over the past day, in which 17 people were killed and 402 injured.
