Putin noted the allied nature of relations with Abkhazia
Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated the head of Abkhazia, Badra Gunba, on his birthday and noted the government's commitment to continue working together to maintain bilateral cooperation. This was announced on August 15 by the press service of the Abkhaz leader in the Telegram channel.
"Dear Badra Zurabovich, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on your birthday. Our meetings in Moscow in March and May confirmed the friendly, allied nature of Russian-Abkhaz relations," the publication says.
In addition, the Russian leader expressed confidence in the continuation of joint work on bilateral cooperation to ensure regional stability, among other things. It is specified that Putin wished the Abkhaz president health, well-being and success in his activities.
Earlier, on July 10, Gunba, during a meeting with First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko, discussed the development of cooperation between Russia and Abkhazia, including in the fields of energy, taxation, and education.
On June 8, Oleg Bartsits, the head of the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry, said that strengthening military cooperation is one of the cornerstones in the common allied format of Abkhazia and Russia. According to him, the countries' defense ministries have been working closely together for a long time.
