Death toll from floods in India has reached 60
A heavy rainstorm has hit northern India, killing 60 people. This was reported on August 15 by the Times of India newspaper.
"60 people were killed and more than 100 injured as a result of heavy rain in Kishtwar," Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, said in a statement.
He noted that at the moment more than 160 people have been rescued, 38 of whom are in serious condition. It is expected that the death toll may increase, as several people are still missing.
