Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano in Kamchatka spewed a column 11 km high. This was announced on August 15 in the press service of the Kamchatka branch of the Federal Research Center "Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences" (FITCGS RAS).

"The height of the ash release was about 11 thousand meters above sea level," the Telegram channel said.

Earlier that day, the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Group (KVERT) of the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences said that Klyuchevskaya had thrown out an ash column, whose height reaches 8 km. It was clarified that the ash plume stretched for 521 km to the east-northeast of the volcano.

At the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (IVIS) On August 13, the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported that Klyuchevskaya volcano had completed its eruption, and a new slag cone had formed in its crater. It was noted that scientists have recorded the completion of the active phase of the eruption.

Klyuchevskoy volcano became active after the earthquake in Kamchatka on July 30. So, on August 9, an ash discharge occurred from the volcano to a height of more than 11.5 km.
