Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who is part of the Russian delegation in Anchorage, said it was not the first time he had visited Alaska. He told this to a correspondent of Izvestia.

The Russian Foreign Minister said that he had already been to Alaska. The head of the department got out of the car, and then went to a hotel in Anchorage. Lavrov appeared in a sweater, presumably with the USSR inscription on the chest.

The minister also said that he was not worried about the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump in Alaska.

"What is it?" Lavrov replied to a question from journalist Alexander Yunashev about whether he was feeling nervous before the meeting.

In addition to Lavrov, the Russian delegation included Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Special Presidential Envoy for cooperation with Foreign Countries and Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

Putin and Trump will meet at the Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Anchorage on August 15 at 22:00 Moscow time. Ushakov said that the central topic of the meeting between the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States would be the discussion of the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, Putin and Trump will also touch upon broader issues of ensuring peace and security.
