In Barnaul, a man was arrested for trafficking jade in the amount of 50 million rubles. This was reported on August 15 in the main directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Altai Territory.

"According to the investigation, in the fall of 2023, a resident of the Novosibirsk region, who had previously been brought to criminal responsibility, purchased 1,700 kg of semiprecious jade stone from unidentified persons," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is specified that the man kept the purchased goods in Novosibirsk on the territory of the house. In April, a suspect was detained by police officers during the transfer of 200 kg of semiprecious stone worth 7 million rubles. During a search of the man's house, the remaining part of the minerals was found and seized.

It is reported that the seized jade is estimated at more than 50 million rubles. The man admitted his guilt. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave.
