The calculation of the 2S7M Malka self-propelled gun of the artillery unit of the Center group of forces destroyed the 2S7 Peony cannon of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area in the area of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on August 15.

The operators of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) identified a target hidden in the forest belt and promptly transmitted its exact location to the artillery crew.

The gunners, having received the coordinates, took up a firing position, put their equipment on alert and hit the AFU installation with high-explosive shells from a distance of over 20 km. After the successful destruction of the target, the crew changed position, performing an anti-fire maneuver, and covered the combat vehicle.

"Every time we leave for a new position, so that the enemy does not have the opportunity to figure out where we are working from," said Nikita Dauksht, the senior gunner of the installation.

It was clarified that the coordinates of the identified targets were promptly transmitted to the command post, from where the order for their destruction was received.
