The interpretation of the conflict in Ukraine in the West has been significantly distorted. The head of the French UPR party and former French presidential candidate Francois Asselino told Izvestia on August 14.

He noted that Europe does not have its own strategy, different from the American one. In his opinion, the goals of the European Union (EU) and France in this conflict were initially not clearly defined, and the conflict itself was presented as an unexpected action on the part of Russia.

"In fact, the West, or rather the Europeans, do not have their own military goals. All they do is obey the US deep state," Asselino shared.

According to him, French President Emmanuel Macron, like German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and British Prime Minister Keith Starmer, "obeys ideology."
