At least 42 police officers were injured in the protests in Serbia, 26 of them in Belgrade. This was announced on August 15 by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic Ivica Dacic.
"42 police officers were injured, 26 of them in Belgrade. I note that this is preliminary data. <...> Several people were seriously injured," Dacic said at a press conference.
It is specified that 37 people have been detained at the moment. Law enforcement officers continue to take measures to deter the protesters.
Dacic said that the situation in Belgrade is calm now, but attacks on police officers and premises of the Serbian Progressive Party (SPP) continue in some other regions.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on August 14 that protesters in Serbia had vandalized the office of the SPP during rallies. He also assured that the state would definitely do its job and suppress the protests.
The director of the Military Security Agency, Colonel-General Juro Jovanic, said on the same day that seven soldiers were injured in riots in Serbia, four with serious injuries. Serbian law enforcement agencies will identify the attackers, he added.
