The Klyuchevskaya volcano in the east of the Kamchatka Peninsula has spewed an ash column, the height of which reaches 8 km. This was announced on August 15 by the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Group (KVERT) of the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

"The explosions raised the ashes of the Klyuchevskaya volcano 8 km above sea level," follows from the publication in the Telegram channel.

It is specified that the ash plume stretches for 521 km to the east-northeast of the volcano. Klyuchevsky's activity was recognized as dangerous for local and international air transportation, and the aviation color code "orange" was announced in this regard.

On August 13, KVERT of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported the release of ash by the Klyuchevskaya volcano at 6 km above sea level. It was clarified that the ash plume stretched for 15 km to the east-northeast.
