In Serbia, police disperse street protests using tear gas. The corresponding footage is published by Izvestia on August 15.
"There is a short break in the battle for Belgrade: the police pushed back the crowd of protesters to Slavia Square," Sergei Petrov, a correspondent for Izvestia, said.
It is specified that most of the people retreated to the adjacent streets and blocked them. Public transport was blocked, and the streets were filled with protesters in masks and bandanas, as well as a large number of police officers.
On August 14, Interior Minister Ivica Dacic reported more than 27 injured police officers as a result of the rallies. It was clarified that 47 violators of the order were detained as a result of the clashes.
On August 12, protests took place in Serbian Vrbas, during which almost 70 people were injured. A group of citizens of the republic expressed dissatisfaction in front of the building of the Serbian Progressive Party and its supporters. On August 13, it was reported that 64 people were injured in the protests, 16 of them policemen. The actions covered the offices of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party in Novi Sad and other cities of Serbia.
Anti-government protests began after 15 people died in the collapse of the railway station in Novi Sad in November 2024. The protesters blocked bridges and roads.
