A BMW car driven by a 20-year-old student hit a man lying on the roadway outside a pedestrian crossing in the Admiralteysky district of St. Petersburg. This was reported to Izvestia by eyewitnesses on the evening of August 14.
According to their information, the man first tried to cross Moskovsky Prospekt, not looking at the sides, and then lay down on the road, which is why motorists drove around him using emergency signals.
The Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the Leningrad region reported that the incident was reported to the Admiralteysky district police at 21:00 Moscow time.
"At the scene of the incident, traffic police officers found that <...> the driver of a BMW car ran over a man running across the roadway outside a pedestrian crossing," the agency said in a statement.
It is specified that the pedestrian died from his injuries at the scene. A check is being carried out on this fact.
In Ivanovo, on the same day, a driver driving a Chevrolet Aveo hit two teenagers who were crossing the road. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Ivanovo region reported that the motorist was detained.
