- The American political scientist spoke about security measures ahead of the leaders' summit
Special security measures will be introduced in Alaska by the beginning of the meeting between the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. Amy Lauren Lovecraft, a professor at the Department of Political Science at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks, told Izvestia about this.
"As for any meetings of this scale, traffic is likely to be restricted, and the airspace will be closed for a period. The locals, of course, will follow the instructions of the authorities and the police to allow the meeting to take place. I think there will be some protests," the expert noted.
The Russian-American summit is scheduled for August 15 in Alaska. Negotiations will begin at 22:30 Moscow time. First, there will be a one-on-one conversation between the leaders. Then negotiations will be held with the participation of delegations, they will be continued over a working breakfast.
