On August 15, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the exploits of Russian military personnel in the area of a special military operation.

The ministry noted the actions of Guard Senior Sergeant Daniil Smirnov, who performed combat missions to guide pontoon crossings. Smirnov was tasked with establishing a river crossing for the transfer of personnel and equipment.

Together with the Smirnov crew, under continuous fire from mortars and artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), he completed the task. Thanks to his precise actions, more than 35 pieces of equipment were redirected across the river during the day.

In addition, the Russian Defense Ministry told about the actions of Corporal Ilya Onufrienko, who, as commander of the assault group, carried out a combat mission to seize a favorable position. Under constant shelling and attacks by enemy drones, the corporal carried out an ascent to a commanding height and cleared the forest belt, personally destroying up to 10 personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

After that, the assault group captured an important border, organized its defense and provided a springboard for the approach of the main forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Thanks to the brave actions of the corporal, the Russian military managed to liberate the settlement.
