Nutritionist Natalia Pavlyuk said that any alcohol has a devastating effect on the body, and is also a high-calorie product.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Thursday, August 14, she noted that if it is impossible to completely give up alcohol, it is better to exclude strong drinks such as vodka, moonshine and cognac.

According to the expert, sweet liqueurs contain antioxidants due to their grape base, but they also have a very high sugar content. Alcohol is generally high in calories — one gram contains about seven calories, while carbohydrates contain only four, Pavlyuk stressed.

She added that dry wine can be considered less harmful: it has a lower calorie content and has antioxidants.

On August 12, doctor Alexander Umnov told how to provide first aid for alcohol poisoning. According to him, it is necessary to induce vomiting and rinse the stomach first, and then restore the water-electrolyte balance by drinking a lot of water, especially mineral water.

In July, nutritionist and psychologist Ekaterina Pankova called alcohol and soda the main "provocateurs" of dehydration in the heat. According to her, the body spends a lot of water to process them, notes 360.ru .

At the same time, Zarema Ten, a general practitioner at the Vidnovskaya Clinical Hospital, told the Moscow City News agency that in hot weather, blood clots can disrupt the thermoregulation of the brain, which can lead to overheating. The doctor stressed that confusion or loss of consciousness, disorientation, seizures, a sharp increase in body temperature and cessation of sweating indicate a critical condition of the brain and require an immediate ambulance call.
