Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak supported the proposal of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation to extend the embargo on gasoline exports. This was announced on August 14 by the press service of the Russian government.

They noted that Novak held a meeting of the headquarters on the situation on the domestic market of petroleum products, during which he noted the need to maintain fuel sales levels in sufficient volumes.

"In order to maintain a stable situation in the domestic fuel market during a period of high seasonal demand and agricultural field work, the Deputy Prime Minister supported the Ministry of Energy's proposal to extend the ban on gasoline exports to September, which will apply to producers, and to October for non-producers of petroleum products," the Cabinet's Telegram channel said.

According to the government, the domestic market is now fully supplied with fuel, and due to the implementation by oil companies of the recommendations of the Ministry of Energy over the past two days, wholesale gasoline prices have shown a decrease.

On July 28, the Russian government temporarily restricted the export of gasoline to producers of petroleum products until August 31. It was noted that the decision was made in order to maintain stability in the domestic fuel market within the framework of high seasonal demand and agricultural field work.
