The Kursk Regional Court sentenced in absentia a 13-year prison sentence in a high-security penal colony to the head of the Sumy pre-trial detention center in northeastern Ukraine for ill-treatment of prisoners of war and civilians. This was reported on August 13 in the joint press service of the judicial system of the Kursk region.
"Igor Yakovlev, a citizen of Ukraine, committed two episodes of a crime under Part 1 of Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Ill—treatment of prisoners of war, ill-treatment of prisoners of war and civilians prohibited by an international treaty of the Russian Federation")," the publication says in the Telegram channel.
