Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit one of the Russian regions on his way to Alaska. This was announced on August 14 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"The president always uses such long-distance trips to the east in order to visit various regions and combine regional work with international affairs. It will be the same this time," he said in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.
