On Friday, August 15, Russian leader Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump will meet in Alaska. The summit will be held on the territory of the Air Force Base USA Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage. Negotiations will start around 22:30 Moscow time.

According to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, the meeting between Putin and Trump will begin at about 11:30 a.m. local time. Anchorage is located in the UTC-8 (GMT-8) time zone, which is 11 hours behind Moscow. Therefore, for residents of the capital, the summit starts late in the evening on August 15 at 22:30.

As Ushakov explained during the briefing, the presidents will have a one-on-one conversation. After that, negotiations will continue as part of the delegations over a working breakfast. Russia will be represented by Ushakov himself, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, and Kirill Dmitriev, the President's special representative for investment and Economic cooperation with foreign countries.

After the summit, Putin and Trump will hold a joint press conference.

The central topic of the meeting will be the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. At the same time, Ushakov noted, "broader tasks of ensuring peace and security" will be touched upon, including acute international and regional problems, as well as issues of Russian-American cooperation.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that there were no plans to sign any documents following the meeting in Alaska. He also noted that Moscow and Washington are ready to discuss "the most pressing issues." At the same time, according to the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, it would be a mistake to "get ahead of ourselves" and try to predict the outcome of the Anchorage summit.
