In summer, women travel more often than men, and families with children go on vacation much more actively than in winter. Ozon Travel analyzed data on flight bookings in the summer of 2025 and compiled a rating of the most "traveling" regions, as well as compared the habits of different categories of tourists. Izvestia got acquainted with the results of the study on August 15.

"Women are more likely to plan vacation trips. In spring, they accounted for 54% of all trips (against 46% for men), in summer — 55% (against 45%). In winter, the gap narrows: 52% of trips are made by women and 48% by men," the analysts noted.

Residents of Moscow and the Moscow Region (7% of all trips) and St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region (5%) most often go on vacation. The Krasnodar Territory, the Sverdlovsk Region and the Republic of Tatarstan also entered the top 5 most traveled regions. In addition, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Rostov Region and the Samara Region are among the leaders.

At the same time, the seasonal dynamics in all regions are similar: the peak of trips falls in spring, followed by summer, and the minimum in winter.

However, it turned out that, regardless of the season, the majority of Russians go on vacation without children — more than 80% of all trips. However, families with children travel much more actively in the summer: 21% of all summer trips are made with children, which is 7% higher than in winter.

"This summer, the demand for travel among Russians has grown both in domestic destinations (by more than 65% year-on-year) and in foreign destinations (by almost 55%). Kaliningrad, Kazan and Sochi are among the top destinations. Ticket sales in the St. Petersburg - Kaliningrad direction increased by 123%, in the Moscow– Kaliningrad direction – by 80%," the study said.

Among the foreign destinations are Georgia (an increase of 3.5 times year—on-year), Armenia (an increase of more than 40%) and Azerbaijan (an increase of more than 15%).

On July 30, it was reported that the cost of travel to friendly countries may decrease in Russia. The reason for the favorable forecast is the new law on benefits for tour operators, which will enter into force on September 1.
