Russian SAMBO wrestler Sheikh-Mansur Khabibulaev on Thursday, August 14, won a gold medal at the World Games in Chengdu, China, in the weight category up to 64 kg.
In the final match, he defeated an athlete from Kazakhstan, Maratbek Rakhmetollin.
The silver medalist was Russian Magomed Hasanov, who won a medal in the weight category up to 98 kg. In the final, the sambo wrestler lost to the representative of Armenia Arman Avanesyan.
Earlier, on August 13, Russian SAMBO wrestler Sofia Istomina won the gold medal at the World Games in Chengdu. She defeated the representative of Uzbekistan Feruza Bobokulova in the weight category up to 65 kg. In an interview with Izvestia, Istomina called it an honor to be able to represent the Russian Federation at competitions.
