A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The southern group of troops liberated the village of Shcherbinovka in the DPR. As a result of the actions of the servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost more than 265 militants, an armored combat vehicle, five vehicles, three field artillery pieces, including a 155 mm M777 howitzer made by the United States, and two electronic warfare (EW) stations.

In turn, units of the Vostok group of forces liberated the settlement of Iskra in the DPR and defeated the manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian armed forces in the Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as well as in the Donetsk People's Republic. The losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to 230 military personnel, four armored combat vehicles, eight vehicles, two artillery pieces and two electronic warfare stations.

"Units of the Zapad group of forces occupied more advantageous lines and positions, defeated formations of the tank, two mechanized and assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the settlements of Senkovo, Glushkovka, Novosergeyevka, Kupyansk of the Kharkiv region, Kirovsk and Kolodezi of the Donetsk People's Republic. The enemy's losses amounted to up to 225 military personnel, an armored combat vehicle and eight vehicles," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of operational and tactical aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated drone storage sites, ammunition depots, temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 147 districts. In addition, air defense systems shot down four guided aerial bombs and 268 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 665 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 77,184 UAVs, 625 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,572 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,585 multiple rocket launchers, 28,500 field artillery and mortars, and 39,648 special vehicles.
