Senator Graham called the Finnish president a bridge between Trump and Europe.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb managed to establish relations with American leader Donald Trump and a number of other officials from the US administration, and became a "bridge" between the White House and Europe. This was stated on August 13 by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (listed as a terrorist and extremist in Russia) in The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
"He became a bridge between Europe and Trump. Alex is perhaps the most active mediator: he corresponds with Trump, receives information and gives advice," said Graham.
According to the WSJ, Stubb regularly communicates with the American leader, and a trusting relationship between the presidents appeared six months ago: both politicians are fond of playing golf.
Stubb said on August 4 that he had a telephone conversation with Trump, during which the Ukrainian issue and cooperation on icebreakers were discussed. According to the Finnish President, long-term negotiations should lead to a lasting and just peace.
