Russian President Vladimir Putin, in preparation for a meeting with American leader Donald Trump in Alaska, held a meeting with members of the country's top leadership and government, as well as with representatives of his administration. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on August 14.

"Putin today, in preparation for the upcoming Russian-American summit in Alaska, held a meeting with members of Russia's top leadership, as well as representatives of the government and the presidential administration," he said.

Earlier in the day, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov announced that Putin and Trump would meet in Alaska around 11:30 a.m. local time (22:30 a.m. CET). According to him, the key topic of the talks will be the discussion of the Ukrainian crisis.
