On August 14, the Serbian Ministry of Justice called the riots in the country that took place last night a blow to the constitutional order.

"Such actions are not only an encroachment on property or individuals, but also a direct encroachment on the constitutional order, democratic values and the right of every citizen to freedom of political action," the statement said, quoted by the RTS television company.

The ministry condemned the riots and added that criminal liability is threatened for the use of physical violence and threats on political grounds.

Before that, on August 12, protests took place in Serbian Vrbas, during which almost 70 people were injured. A group of citizens of the republic expressed dissatisfaction in front of the building of the Serbian Progressive Party and its supporters. Then Vucic stated that he did not intend to run for the next presidential election. He clarified that he would end his presidential career in a year and a half.

Later, on August 13, it was reported that 64 people were injured in the protests, 16 of them policemen. They covered the offices of the ruling Serbian Progressive Party in Novi Sad and other cities of Serbia.

The Tanjung news agency reported that as a result of the riots in Serbia last night, seven soldiers were injured. According to the director of the Military Security Agency, Colonel-General Juro Jovanic, Serbian law enforcement agencies will identify the attackers.
