Dodon warned about the seizure of the constitutional court of the country by the Moldovan authorities

Moldova's ruling Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) wants to permanently seize the country's constitutional court. This was announced on August 14 by former President of the Republic Igor Dodon.

"The PAS anti—constitutional group urgently wants to permanently seize the constitutional court, turning it into a branch of its party," Dodon wrote on his Telegram channel.

He added that the PAS urgently gathers its parliamentary faction on Sunday, August 17, to appoint loyal judges before the autumn elections.

"The Constitutional Court will be obliged to satisfy the whims of the authorities and make politicized decisions aimed at protecting the current PAS regime, up to and including canceling the elections if the ruling party gets a bad result," Dodon said.

According to the politician, the punishment for abuse of power will "inevitably" overtake both the new judges of the Constitutional Court of Moldova and the authorities of the country.

"The people have woken up and understand everything. And he no longer intends to tolerate lies, terror and the "yellow" dictatorship," he concluded.

Earlier, on July 29, three Moldovan opposition parties jointly submitted documents to the country's Central Election Commission (CEC) for the official registration of a new electoral association. The key position of the bloc is the restoration of full-fledged relations with Russia. The bloc includes the Socialist Party of Moldova, the Future of Moldova and the Heart of Moldova.

Later, on August 3, the country's Central Election Commission registered a bloc to participate in the parliamentary elections in Moldova this fall. Also on August 8, the CEC approved the accession of the Communist Party to the opposition electoral bloc.
