A female diver who disappeared during a dive was rescued on Sakhalin
A female diver who disappeared while diving near the island of Moneron was rescued on Sakhalin. This was announced on August 14 by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Sakhalin region.
The day before, 112 received a message that one of the divers disappeared in the area of Moneron Island during a group dive.
"The woman who disappeared off the island of Moneron has been rescued. The female diver was discovered by a rescue vessel 15 km from the coast and taken to Moneron Island," the agency's Telegram channel says.
They clarified that 17 people and four pieces of equipment, including an Mi-8 helicopter, participated in the search operation.
On February 29, it was reported that a group of tourists was swept away by the current in the Philippines while diving, and two Russians died. It was noted that there were four Russian divers — two were able to escape together with the instructor. The dead were 29-year-old Ilya Peregudin and 39-year-old Maxim Melekhov. The Russian Embassy in the Philippines has confirmed the deaths of two Russians near the island of Verde.
