Ukraine continues to violate international humanitarian law by targeting Russian civilians. This was stated on August 14 by the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkova after the morning attack of a Ukrainian drone (UAV) on Belgorod.

"The Kiev regime, in futile anger, continues to strike at the civilian population, violating all conceivable norms of international humanitarian law," Moskalkova wrote on her Telegram channel.

The Ombudsman noted that the attack by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) looks particularly cynical against the background of the upcoming summit of the Russian Federation and the United States, which will be held on Friday, August 15. According to Moskalkova, Russia continues to demonstrate its readiness to de-escalate the conflict.

Earlier in the day, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported that three civilians were injured as a result of an attack by an APU drone in Belgorod. A man in serious condition with shrapnel wounds and his wife with a burned forearm will be taken to the regional clinical hospital for treatment. The third victim will be hospitalized with barotrauma and a shrapnel wound to the city hospital No. 2.

In addition, in the morning Gladkov announced an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the regional government building in Belgorod. It was reported that minor damage was recorded in the building.
