A floor slab collapsed in an apartment building in Taganrog, Rostov region, and the authorities imposed an emergency regime at the site of the collapse. This was announced on August 14 by the head of the city Svetlana Kambulova.

"A floor slab collapsed in one of the apartments at 44B Oktyabrskaya Street. All the emergency services of the city promptly went to the scene of the emergency," she wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to her, around midnight, a partition collapsed in the basement of one of the apartments, as a result of which a ceiling beam and a floor slab collapsed. After that, cracks formed throughout the entire structure of the building.

She added that there were no casualties as a result of the incident. Residents were evacuated, most went to their families. Six people were placed in a temporary accommodation facility.

After the accident, the water supply and gas supply in the affected wing were promptly turned off. An emergency mode was introduced within the boundaries of the house.

Earlier that day, a fire broke out in a multi-storey building in the city of Aksai, Rostov region. 24 people were evacuated from the building, and parents with three children managed to get out of the burning apartment. Two children were hospitalized.
