The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation has denied information about a possible ban on seat belt caps.

The Russian Interior Ministry did not propose to introduce the mandatory use of safety belts with special colors, as well as to ban the sale of seat belt caps. This was announced on August 14 by the press service of the Scientific Center for Road Safety (NCBDD), which is part of the department.

"In connection with the appearance in the media of a publication about an initiative allegedly put forward by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia to consolidate the mandatory use of special colors for seat belts, prohibiting the use and sale of plugs for it, we explain. At the moment, the Russian Interior Ministry has not come up with proposals to amend legislation regarding the use of these methods," the TASS news agency quotes the text of the message.
