Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces found captured Western weapons during the liberation of Zelyony Guy in the DPR

Servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation during the liberation of the village of Zelyony Guy in the South Donets direction in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) found captured Western-made weapons that were used in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on August 14 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry clarified that an M4 automatic carbine and an M16 assault rifle developed in the United States, two Belgian machine guns, a NATO-style hand grenade launcher and ammunition were found in the liberated settlement.

"Captured weapons, small arms, melee, weapons of various countries are presented here. <...> The weapons of various countries in general are [represented] — Canada, Poland, USA, England. <...> Everyone wants to fight against us, the whole world, roughly speaking, but they won't succeed. <...> Russia will not back down. Victory will be ours!" said the platoon commander with the call sign Shutter.

In the future, as he clarified, all the trophies found will be transferred to the museum, but before that, the weapons will be cleaned, and the damaged part will be restored.

On July 14, Izvestia published footage of an assault in the area of a special military operation provided by Russian military personnel of the Vostok group of forces. Captured weapons, including a machine gun, submachine guns and other equipment, were also discovered during combat missions by guards scouts from the Khabarovsk Territory. It was taken without a fight, as the enemy surrendered, according to a radio scout with the call sign Tsar.
