Direct, non-stop flights from Moscow to Alaska can be carried out by wide-body aircraft (VS), for example, on an IL-96 passenger liner. This was announced on August 14 by Oleg Panteleev, Executive Director of the Aviport agency.

"Planes for servicing such visits can carry out direct non-stop flights to Alaska from Moscow and from any other Russian city. Transport planes that deliver cars and necessary property can make intermediate landings in Siberia or the Far East," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to Panteleev, the state of Alaska has a sufficient number of airgavans that can accommodate such passenger aircraft and other super-heavy transport aircraft.

On August 8, US President Donald Trump announced that he intends to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 15. Later, on August 12, the White House announced that talks between the Russian and American leaders would be held in Anchorage, Alaska. On the same day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed their commitment to the successful holding of the announced summit.

On August 12, former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter called on Americans to come to Russia and communicate with Russians in order to get to know "what is in their hearts" and understand "what they believe in." This, in his opinion, will allow his fellow citizens to overcome the Russophobia that has been imposed for a long time.
