- Ukraine has refused to cooperate with the CIS on the evacuation of citizens from third countries
Ukraine has officially terminated its participation in the agreement on cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in case of evacuation of their citizens from third countries in case of emergencies. This was announced on August 13 by the representative of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnichuk.
The draft law "On withdrawal from the Agreement on Cooperation between the member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in case of evacuation of their citizens from third countries in case of emergency situations" has been approved, he wrote in his Telegram channel.
Melnichuk noted that the document was signed on April 12, 1996 in Moscow.
On May 21, Melnichuk announced that Ukraine would withdraw from eight agreements with Russia, Belarus and the CIS. In particular, the agreements between Kiev and Moscow on the mutual settlement of debts for supplied energy resources from 1997 will cease to be valid.
