The main reason for the dismissal of teachers remains the gap between expectations and the reality of working conditions, as well as low wages, Izvestia found out.

Among other reasons for leaving school, teachers cited the need to engage in imitation activities — to fill out unnecessary reports and take fictitious courses, the independent trade union "Teacher" reported. Teachers also complain about the high workload and fatigue from constant innovations.

"Older teachers are more likely to resign due to disrespect for the teaching profession in society. Young people are more unhappy that the management does not respect employees and the school has a bad psychological atmosphere, and they also complain more often about burnout," the trade union said.

Almost a quarter of former school employees claim that salaries do not match the amount of work, added Boris Kurbatov, founder and CEO of the Dream Job platform. The stated rate and actual employment often differ, he pointed out.

"Among other factors pushing teachers to change jobs is interaction with parents and students. For teachers, pressure or aggression on their part often becomes a serious stress factor, especially with insufficient support from the administration," he said.

Teachers' desire to quit is also affected by an inconvenient weekend schedule and high bureaucratic workload.
