Two Italian F-35 fighter jets were lifted into the sky over Estonia due to alleged Russian activity near the border. This was reported on August 13 by the newspaper Il Messaggero with reference to the command of the NATO Air Force.

"For the first time, two Italian F-35s took off in Estonia <...> as part of the NATO air patrol mission," the publication says.

We are talking about the alliance's rapid reaction group at the Emari air base in Estonia, notes "Газета.Ru ".

The Welt newspaper reported on June 5 that the German Air Force had launched two fighter jets in the Baltic Sea area due to the appearance of a Russian Il-20 military aircraft in the airspace. It was noted that the IL-20 was flying in international airspace, allegedly without giving an identification signal and radio contact.
