Pickup truck sales decreased in Russia
In January-July 2025, 11,883 pickups were sold on the Russian market, which is 20.5% less than the same period last year. This was announced on August 13 by Sergey Tselikov, General Director of the Autostat analytical agency, in his Telegram channel.
According to him, over the past seven months, pickups of the Chinese brand JAC have become the most popular. A total of 2,836 T9, T8 and T8 Pro cars were sold, which is 12% more than last year. Sales of Great Wall pickups have halved (-52%) to 1,982 units. UAZ remains in third place (1,494 units).
Tselikov also noted the rapid growth in popularity of Foton pickups (+204%) and the entry into the top 15 of the American electric "monster" Tesla Cybertruck (31 units).
On August 13, the press service of the Sollers Group announced the localization of the production of frames for the Sollers ST6 and ST8 pickup trucks at the facilities of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant's subsidiary, UAZ-Stamping Production LLC. The first pilot batch of frames has been released on a new production line created as part of the investment project. The design capacity of the line is up to 10.5 thousand frames per year.
